Workshops are designed as interactive, skills-based sessions that provide participants with practical experience in behavioral medicine. Unlike symposia or paper presentations, workshops should emphasize active learning, hands-on activities, and professional skill development. Review Criteria
Workshop proposals will be peer-reviewed based on:
- Importance and Relevance – Alignment with the conference theme, contemporary issues in behavioral medicine and scientific evidence and methodology.
- Interactivity – Clear plans for participant engagement (e.g., small-group activities, role-play, demonstrations, practical exercises).
- Learning Objectives – Specific knowledge or skills participants will gain.
- Facilitator Expertise – Relevant qualifications and experience of the workshop facilitators.
Submission Guidelines
All abstracts must be written in English, and be prepared in a word document (doc or docx format). Submission of the abstract can be made through direct email to Professor Derwin Chan at dchankc@hkmu.edu.hk.
Please include the following:
Workshop Title
- Concise and descriptive (maximum 15 words)
Facilitator Information
- Name, affiliation, country, and contact details of the lead facilitator
- Names of co-facilitators, if applicable
- Brief biography for each facilitator (maximum 100 words), highlighting relevant expertise
Workshop Duration
Please indicate your preferred format:
- Half-day workshop – 3 hours (including coffee breaks); specify morning or afternoon preference
- Full-day workshop – 6 hours (including coffee breaks)
Abstract Format
Maximum 400 words using the following headings:
- Background and Rationale – Why is this topic important and timely?
- Relevance – How does the workshop align with the ICBM 2027 conference theme and scientific evidence?
- Interactive Components – Describe activities that will engage participants.
- Target Audience – Specify intended participants (e.g., early-career researchers, clinicians, practitioners).
- Learning Objectives – List 3–5 specific learning outcomes.
Important Dates
- Submission Deadline: Abstracts will be reviewed on a rolling basis until capacity is reached, with final submissions due by 1 September 2026.
- Notification of Acceptance: Decisions will be communicated on a rolling basis.
Policies and Responsibilities
- Registration: All workshop facilitators must register for the Congress.
- Equipment: Standard AV equipment (projector, screen, microphone) will be provided. Additional technical requirements should be specified at submission.
- Originality and Ethics: Workshops must present original educational content and comply with ISBM ethical standards.
